Arkansas Contractor License Classifications

Arkansas Contractor License Classifications

Arkansas State requires a special license for all the people who want to work as a contractor, builder or handyman. Let’s have a look at Arkansas Contractor License Classification while obtaining a license.

There are various sorts of licenses available, as well as a Sub Contractor Registration Certificate․

Subcontractor Registration Certificate

Subcontractors of DULY LICENSED contractors can work with a REGISTRATION certificate rather than a complete license. A subcontractor is someone who works under a contract with a legally licensed contractor. If there is a contract with the owner (formal or verbal, it makes no difference), that person is regarded as a PRIME contractor, not a subcontractor. If the PRIME contractor does not have a proper Commercial Contractors license, the subcontractor will be required to obtain one.

Commercial License

A commercial license is required whenever a contractor does work on a commercial project worth $50,000 or more, including but not limited to labor and supplies. A commercial project is any project that is not a single-family dwelling.

Residential Builders License

If the cost of the project exceeds $2,000, including but not limited to labor and materials, a home builders license is required, unless an exception exists. A Residential Builders License also permits you to renovate a single-family home.

Residential Remodelers License

If the job costs more than $2,000, including labor and materials, a residential remodelers license is required.

Home Improvement License

A home improvement license is required to perform specialist work on a single-family property if the project costs more than $2,000, including labor and materials. This license is for a contractor who exclusively does specific sorts of work (painting, roofing, flooring, etc.). This license does not enable you to construct or renovate a house.

Commercial Contractor Licenses are governed by the following laws:
